My period is on and I just started inserting metrodinzole gel to treat my bacterial vaginosis.A period can be very heavy;just wanted to know could I still continue to treat the vaginitis and if so is it still as effective as if I wasn't on my period to rid the bacterial infection?I'm on my menstrual cycle and I just started using metradinzole to treat my bv;can I still use it or no?
You should probably call your doctor.
However, with yeast infection meds, you can use them on your period, you just can't use tampons. You also use them at night so they stay in the vaginal canal longer (while you sleep), because gravity works....usually. So I would be willing to bet you probably can still use the BV med during your cycle.
yeah might as well keep sticking things up there cant get much worse... ask paris hilton she got just about everything too.
why don't you just contact your doctor and ask him or her? That would be a lot more sense able then anyone can give you for an answer on here.
