I have had ingrown hair under my armpits for about 2 years.... I have been prescribed 3 different antibiotics but I haven't taken them on regular basis and I think I may be immune to them.... and I don’t not want to go under surgery... is there anything to apply that will help with the pain and get rid of the infection?Ingrown hair?
When you are prescribed the antibiotic, do you take the entire prescription? If you don't, you are causing worse problems in that the bacteria may be mutating.
Is it just one ingrown hair that won't heal or is it an intermittent problem in different areas? If it is just one hair, why not have it lanced and removed to end the discomfort?
Have you considered laser hair removal? That might help prevent a continuous problem.
All you can do is hold warm compresses on the area a few times a day and take anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen. Nothing besides antibiotics is going to get rid of an infection. Ask your doctor to culture the area to get the exact bacteria that is growing so it can be treated with the proper antibiotic.
what about neosporin?or break open a vitamin e capsule and spread it over the area
