Is a menstual a period?

I'm just wandering. I get mixed up with both.Is a menstual a period?
Sentences like "I am having my period" is common to us. So is the word menstrual! U can use it like dis "I just started menstruating yesterday." It holds the same meaning like the 1st sentence!
MENSTRUATION CYCLE though holds a different meaning. It means the whole provess of 28 days after your first period/menstruation.

mensturation occurs at regular peroids usually every 28 days (average 21 to 35 days)
F more than 35 days it is called hypo menorrha.
F less than 21 days it is called hyper menorrhea.
F ur period come(before OR after) the expected day of mensturation by more than one week you should consult ur doctor(EVEN F it is within the average range)
