Is irregular periods causing me to gain more weight?

well im 15 going on 16 and ever since i first started my period ive noticed that the i go 3 months in a row with a regular period and ill lose weight but when i skip a couple months i start gaining weight again. Is irregular periods causing me to gain more weight?
It does cause you to gain weight because you have an increase in the amount of blood and tissue that your body is holding in the area and so as it builds up that gains weight
no, but this irregular period could be related to your thyroid, which could be the cause of your weight gain. see your doctor soon and tell them exactly what's happening with your menstrual cycle. they can check your thyroid with a blood test and rule out any other problems.
YES, YOU COULD BE GAINING WATER WEIGHT CAUSE YOU NEED TO HAVE A PERIOD ..YOU COULD GO ON BIRTH CONTROL PILLS ..TO HELP REGULATE YOU!
Most likely gaining wait is causing your body to irregular. When you start to loose wait is when your body regulates back out. You should see your doctor. Many different things can affect this, STDs, pregnancy, stress, cancer. Have it checked out.
my daughter is going thru the same thing, i did take her to the docters. being irregular at this age is normal. only worry if your sexually active of course. as far as gaining weight you will go up and down more so as a teen based on food intake, types of foods and excersizeing habits.
No! I have irregular periods since I was 12. I am 18 and I weight 108 lb, never gain weight. You shoulc control what you eat and exercise!
