Im 9weeks preg and my gums are killing me, can i use Listerine?
listerine has a high content of alcohols in it. that's what gives the burn that everyone feels. your best bet is the rinse put out by crest (pro health rinse). it does the same thing as listerine but no burn because there's no alcohol.
incidently, getting your teeth cleaned even a deep cleaning during pregnancy is okay as long (as obgyn says so). insurance companies will also extend benefits for additional dental treatments during your pregnancy. these would include extra cleaninings and scaling/root planings.
gum disease (periodontitis) cam lead to low birth weight babies. i don't know what your gums were like before the pregnancy but it would be wise to satrt a flossing program 1 time a day everyday and use the rinse and an electric tooth brush. the bleeding is likely only hormonal if the gums were healthy before.

Listerine shouldn't hurt you or your baby. My gums bled whenever I brushed my teeth when I pregnant. My doc said it was normal due to hormones. Good luck.
Listerine has alcohol in it so i wouldnt do that. Your gums will stay sore just for a short while. You will have lots of little things that you will fell while pregnant. Youll be fine. Try some oral gel.
